ABOUT ME: I grew up in the Twin Cities, Minnesota area, so it was a little bit of a shock to my family when I decided to become a Wisconsin Badger instead of a Minnesota Golden Gopher. But, it was definitely a great choice, and I am proud to be a Badger!!! I enjoy playing and watching sports (especially hockey) and I love being able to be outdoors and active, especially with friends.
MY INVOLVEMENT WITH SWE: I got involved with SWE my freshman year, mostly through my Big Sib Little Sib family. I recommend this to people who are new to SWE because it is a great way to get to know an upperclassman involved in SWE. I have been a part of several of SWE’s committees. I also have had the opportunity to be a leader with SWE; I was the Special events officer my sophomore year, the Vice President of Communications the first half of my junior year, and President last year. I love being a part of SWE! It is such a great opportunity to meet people, make friends, learn some about the professional world, and try out many different and fun activities. I encourage you all to try a new SWE event this year and meet some new people while you’re there. I hope to see you around at SWE events this year =)
WORK EXPERIENCE: I had an internship with Kraft Foods R&D in summer 2009. I also had a co-op with Bemis starting the second semester of my junior year (spring 2010) and going through summer 2010. This past summer (2011), I interned with Clorox R&D in California. If you have any questions about the internship or co-op experience, please ask me!
FAVORITE THING TO DO ON CAMPUS: I love being outdoors, so my favorite thing to do is go for a walk/ run/ bike ride/ rollerblading excursion with people around campus, especially by the lake and in the nature preserves and gardens. I also really enjoy football game days in the fall. The atmosphere is so great!
FAVORITE BABCOCK ICE CREAM FLAVOR: definitely chocolate chip peanut butter, but I don’t think I have had any Babcock ice cream that doesn’t taste good

MY INVOLVEMENT WITH SWE: I have not been involved with SWE for very long but helping out with the Regional H Conference has given me a crash course on what it’s all about and I’m exited to continue helping out
FAVORITE THING TO DO ON CAMPUS: My favorite thing to do on campus is go out exploring with friends. There are so many different buildings and outdoor areas worth visiting and despite my two past years here, I still cannot say ive seen everything. Places like the union buildings, Historical Society, Lakeshore Path, the Geological Museum, or the woods behind Bascom Hall.
FAVORITE CLASS/PROFESSOR: My favorite class thus far was my Digital Systems Fundamentals class. It was difficult but by the end, i felt i could design a gate level circuit to fulfill just about any functionality I wanted. For example, my final project was to design a text message simulator. The satisfaction of finishing that schematic after a semester worth of work was immeasurable.
