Major: Materials Science and Engineering
Hometown: Plymouth, MN

About Me: I’m a junior in Materials Science and Engineering, and I have a passion to pursue a career in the medical device industry. I love everything UW-Madison has to offer: academics, a variety of organizations, and plenty of social activities to participate in on campus.

My Involvement with SWE: I first found out about SWE when I attended Day On Campus as a senior in high school. The weekend I spent with SWE on campus was my deciding factor to come to UW-Madison. I joined right away my freshman year, and I have loved being a part of it ever since. My favorite volunteer experience through SWE has been Day On Campus and Girls Inc.

Job Experience: In high school, I worked as a dance teacher at a studio for 3 years. I have a passion for dance and have been dancing for 18 years. For Summer of 2017, I have an internship with Smiths Medical in Plymouth, MN working in research and development for a medical device called the Cleo 90.

Favorite Thing To Do On Campus: I love to relax at either the Terrace in the summer or in a variety of coffee shops on State Street. I can almost always be found grabbing coffee at Colectivo and heading over to Memorial Union afterwards.

Favorite Class/Professor: My favorite class was MSE 351 with Sue Babcock. She was an organized and passionate professor, and I learned so much and enjoyed the content of the coursework.

Favorite Babcock Ice Cream Flavor: Butter Pecan

Other Activities/Organizations: Kappa Alpha Theta, Optima Dance, and Materials Advantage
