Vice President of Finance-Elect
Major: Biomedical Engineering
Hometown: Shoreview, MN
My Involvement with SWE: I’ve been super involved in SWE since my freshman year. My favorite SWE events are Girl Scout badge days and volunteering events—both are a great way to get involved in the local community! My sophomore year I was Mentoring Committee Co-Chair and helped plan Day on Campus, as well as host other mentoring events to help younger students get more involved in SWE and in engineering in general. Now I’m VP-Finance elect, and I’m really enjoying learning about the things that keeps SWE running!
Job Experience: I have experience in a lot of different fields. My first internship was in a project management position at Cummins in Fridley, MN (it feels like a long time ago now). Here on campus I worked in Huttenlocher Lab for a couple years, doing research on macrophages and stem cells. This past year I took a gap year to do a fellowship in Germany called the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange, where I acted as a cultural ambassador to the German public. While there I was also able to complete an internship researching the effects of different pharmaceuticals on the environment, which is something I’d like to get more involved in.
Favorite Thing To Do On Campus: Hanging out on the terrace
Favorite Class/Professor: BME 330 (Transport) with Dr. Kreeger and Dr. McClean
Favorite Babcock Ice Cream Flavor: Orange custard chocolate chip
Other Activities/Organizations: I attend events through BMES and the German Club, and recently started getting involved in Hoofers. I am also a tutor through ULC—feel free to approach me with questions about tutoring and other resources on campus!
