ABOUT ME: Hey All! My name is Nivedita, or Nev. I am a senior studying computer engineering. I am really excited to be president of SWE, especially after being abroad for a semester. Outside of school and SWE, I enjoy running, crafting, travelling, and exploring! I look forward to meeting all the new SWEsters and strengthening my relationship with old ones!


MY INVOLVEMENT WITH SWE: I joined SWE my freshman year. Over the past couple of years, I have participated in a variety of different events, such as Homecoming, Boeing Tech Team, and various volunteer opportunities! The past officer positions that I have held are ETC Camp Co-Chair and School Outreach.

ABOUT ME: Hey! I am really excited to have a VP position this year, SWE has been a huge part of my college experience since my first week here! Other than trying to go to all SWE events, I love to bike around Madison on the trails, painting/drawing are my passions, and like to try out new things!

MY INVOLVEMENT WITH SWE: I have been an involved member since freshman year when I got my first SWE position as Special Events co-chair and last year I held the position of Girl Scouts co-chair. Since then I have become involved in almost every part of SWE, community service, girl scouts, engineering tomorrow's careers camp, mentoring, and joined the Boeing team last year.

WORK EXPERIENCE: I have not had any internships/co-ops yet, but am searching for this year! Otherwise I worked at Subway for four years, and at the Memorial Union on campus for a few months.

ABOUT ME: I'm graduating in December, so I want to make my last semester really count! I hope to attend plenty of SWE events, as well as football games, hockey games, farmers markets, and terrace events! Other interests of mine include reading, cooking, camping, and playing sand volleyball.

MY INVOLVEMENT WITH SWE: I have been involved with SWE since freshman year and have held four difference officer positions: Girl Scouts, Boeing Leader, Special Events, and most currently VP Communication.

WORK EXPERIENCE: My freshman year I interned at Hydro-Thermal, a mechanical engineering firm, creating work instruction procedures. The following summer I interned with RoadView, working with Lidar images and data processing. My junior year I interned with the UW Hospital in the Facilities Planning, Design, and Construction department. This past summer I worked for Mortenson Construction and have accepted a full time offer with them upon my graduation!

WORK EXPERIENCE: I had an internship with Applied GeoScience, Inc this summer, a small geotechnical consulting firm. It was a great way to learn about project management and everything that goes into running a small business.

ABOUT ME: Hello SWEsters! I’m Katie and I am a senior in ISyE. I am really excited to be the treasurer this year for SWE. When I’m not studying or doing SWE activities, I enjoy anything outdoors, playing the piano, participating in intramural sports and hanging out with my friends.


MY INVOLVEMENT WITH SWE: I first learned about SWE when I attended Day On Campus my senior year of high school. Freshman year I joined right away and became involved with all of the different committees and was a SWEster of the month as well as a Distinguished Member. My sophomore year I became the Fundraising Officer and that summer was a camp counselor for ETC camp. Junior year I was the Special Events Co-Chair Fall semester and then VP Finance Elect Spring Semester. I love all of SWE’s events, especially BSLS, Day On Campus, and any Community Service events!


WORK EXPERIENCE: I had an internship with Kapco Inc., a metal stamping company. I also was a camp counselor for both Engineering Tomorrows Careers Camp and Camp Manito-Wish YMCA. I am currently a nanny.

MY INVOLVEMENT WITH SWE: I have been involved with SWE since the fall of my junior year. Since then, I have been actively involved in the Boeing Tech Team.

WORK EXPERIENCE: This summer I will be interning with Nestle USA in Iowa. Currently I work in the Babcock Dairy Plant helping produce and package cheese!

WORK EXPERIENCE:This past summer I worked for Ford Motor Company as a chassis engineering intern. I have also interned with GE-Aviation in the Boston area and Rockwell Automation in Milwaukee.

I'm Meghan and I am a junior studying Industrial Engineering at the best university in the world (I'm not biased or anything...)!  When I'm not in class or working , I love to bake, read, run around the lake, play volleyball, spend time with my friends and family, travel, and especially follow the Packers and Badger sports teams!  This is my first semester as a SWE officer and I couldn't be more excited!  I'd love to see you at different community service events throughout the semester and I look forward to meeting all of the SWEsters!

MY INVOLVEMENT WITH SWE:  I have been involved in SWE since my freshman year of college.  Throughout the past two years, I have helped with Day on Campus (which I also attended during my senior year of high school!), Big Sib/Little Sib, outreach events, attended the SWE regional conference in Minnesota, and many outreach and volunteering events.

WORK EXPERIENCE: I co-oped during the spring semester of 2013 at Avon Hi-Life, a rubber manufacturing company in Johnson Creek, Wisconsin, as a quality and improvements intern.  This past summer of 2013, I interned at AbbVie, a biopharmaceutical company in North Chicago, IL.  I greatly enjoyed and learned from both experiences, and I'd love to talk to anyone about them!  On campus, I am a tour guide for the College of Engineering, so if you see me giving a tour, please wave and say hi!

FAVORITE THING TO DO ON CAMPUS:  Watch basketball games at the Kohl Center, walk around the farmer's market on the Square, and relax on the Terrace on a nice sunny day!

MY INVOLVEMENT WITH SWE:This will be my second year in SWE and this is my first time being an officer.  I’ve been involved in community service, mentoring and my favorite, Biggest Loser!

WORK EXPERIENCE: I worked at a frozen yogurt store for two years.  This past summer, I interned at Altria in Chicago; I had a really great experience and learned a lot!

: Hi everyone! I'm very excited to be a co-chair for the Girl Scout committee this year and to help young girls get excited about science and engineering. I love UW-Madison and all the tradition that comes with it - I attended my first Badger football game when I was 9 mo. and 20 years later, they're still one of my favorite things to do on campus! In my spare time, I love to read just about anything I can get my hands on, hang out with my friends, and go camping, hiking, and backpacking in Wisconsin's beautiful state parks.

MY INVOLVEMENT WITH SWE: I joined SWE my freshman year and helped out with Science Olympiad for School Outreach. I was the Freshman Committee Chair for the following two semesters, and helped plan SWE's Engineering EXPO booth. I've also volunteered at a number of the Girl Scout days and other School Outreach and Community Service events over the past two years

WORK EXPERIENCE: I am currently a research assistant in a Chemistry/Biophysics lab on campus and a chemistry and computer science tutor at the ULC, and I was a lifeguard for 4 years.

I'm currently studying to get my Private's Pilots license, and breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. I'm also super stoked to be SWE officer again this semester!!

: Hi SWEsters I’m Maddy, I am super energetic and basically hate sleeping ( I like getting up at 5 everyday). I love working out, specifically yoga/pilates, lifting, and dance. When I’m not working on homework or at SWE events I love wandering around Madison – I spent a summer in Madison and it was the best summer of my life, there is so much to do! Fun Fact: I am a little obsessed with red lipstick, so if you see someone on campus with red lipstick it’s probably me!


MY INVOLVEMENT WITH SWE: I attended Day On Campus my senior year and have been in love with SWE ever since! I was a Distinguished Member spring and fall 2013, I basically try to attend every event I possibly can. Last semester I was a mentoring committee co-chair and had a blast planning for Day on Campus! I am super excited to be the School Outreach officer this year and get kids excited about STEM!

FAVORITE THING TO DO ON CAMPUS: I can’t pick just one. I love going Badger football games in the Fall, the famers market April through November and spending days at the terrace in the summer.

ABOUT ME: Hey guys, my name is Alex and I’m super excited to be the Special Events Co-Chair this year! I’ve been involved with SWE since my freshman year, but this is my first year being an officer. A few things that I love: Wisconsin Badgers, Chicago Bears, soccer, the Terrace, Harry Potter, Friends, The Office, Parks and Rec, my dogs (I’ll probably show you a picture of them at some point) and of course SWE!


MY INVOLVEMENT WITH SWE: I’ve basically done some sort activity with almost every committee of SWE! I try to attend all the events that I can. Specifically, I’ve been a 2-time ETC camp counselor and 2-time Distinguished Member!


WORK EXPERIENCE: I’ve worked at both Cold Stone Creamery and Panera Bread in the past


FAVORITE THING TO DO ON CAMPUS: Go to Badger football games. There’s nothing else that can compare to game days!

ABOUT ME: I love everything Badger. I also love to have random dance parties with my roommates, cuddle with my goldendoodle, play intramural soccer, bake delicious desserts, and play piano.


MY INVOLVEMENT WITH SWE: I heard about SWE in high school through ETC camp and Day on Campus. Freshman year I was a distinguished member both fall and spring semesters and worked as an ETC camp counselor this past summer.  This year, I’m super excited to plan fun SWE activities and events with Alex!


WORK EXPERIENCE: I hope to intern for an engineering company this summer, but for now you’ll find me bartending at the Overture Center for the Arts for shows, weddings, and events.  


FAVORITE THING TO DO ON CAMPUS: I love to do all the Madison staples like have ice cream at the terrace, run to Picnic Point on a fall day, and enjoy a heated Badger football game at Camp Randall.  I will also say sledding down Bascom Hill on dining hall trays was definitely a huge highlight for me.


FAVORITE CLASS/PROFESSOR: Call me crazy, but I absolutely loved Math 222 with Jen Beichman.

ABOUT ME: I am the sixth child of 8. I was involved in a lot of extra curricular activities and sports as a high school student, but I am focusing on only a couple activities here on UW-Madison campus.

MY INVOLVEMENT WITH SWE: This is my second semester in SWE. I’ve been to multiple SWE events and meetings. I am the Freshman Committee Chair.

WORK EXPERIENCE: I worked as a cashier and supervisor at my family grocery store in Minneapolis.

ABOUT ME: Hello! I’m so excited for SWE this year! I’m from a small town not far from Madison, I love my family and friends and in my free time I like to play sports (basketball, volleyball, biking, pretty much anything active), hang out with friends, travel and cook.

MY INVOLVEMENT WITH SWE: : I first got involved in SWE through Day on Campus and have been ever since! I've held positions of Engineering Expo Co-Chair, Evening with Industry Co-Chair, Marketing Chair, VP-Internal Relations and now am excited to be the Technical Communications officer! If you'd like anything to be included on our website, just let me know!. I’ve also participated in Big Sib/Little Sib, Day on Campus, SWE National and Regional conferences and lots of other fun things that SWE does!

WORK EXPERIENCE: Quality and Regulatory Operations intern with General Mills, Manufacturing and Engineering intern with Dow Chemical, student help in the eHealth office for UW Health, youth basketball referee/coach, cashier at the local hardware store, and now in the process of looking for a full-time position when I graduate in December.

FAVORITE THING TO DO ON CAMPUS: Relax at the Terrace and Unions, visit the Farmer’s Market and explore and experience all that Madison has to offer!
