ABOUT ME:Originally from the East Coast, I made my way to Wisconsin in fifth grade and am now studying here at this wonderful university!
MY INVOLVEMENT WITH SWE:This is my 4th year in SWE. My freshman year, I was Mentoring Co-chair which was very fun to plan Big Sib Little Sib and organize Day on Campus. My sophomore year, I was Marketing Chair which was a blast to spread the word of SWE through different outlets. My junior year, I was the Girl Scouts Co-chair which was great to see children since I usually don’t as a college student. This year I’m Community Service chair, and I’m absolutely loving finding opportunities to forward on to the committee!
WORK EXPERIENCE:I’ve worked three separate terms as an ME intern for FedEx SmartPost in their Facilities Material Handling and Engineering department. Absolutely loved it and learned so much.

MY INVOLVEMENT WITH SWE: My first two years at UW-Madison I was a general member within SWE and participated in various committees. Last year I was a Mentoring Committee Co-Chair for the fall semester before going abroad in the spring. I had a blast becoming more involved in this organization and I am excited to take on the position of Grad Affairs and continue to give back to the amazing organization!
WORK EXPERIENCE:This past summer I completed an internship with GE Aviation in Rockford, Il. I did not have the best experience with the city, but the work and people were fantastic! The previous summer I completed an internship with the NASA Dryden Flight Research Center. I gained so much valuable experience from these internships and am excited to see what next summer holds! On campus, I worked for Visitor and Information Programs as an Information Guide all of my freshman and sophomore year. Currently I am a student assistant for InterEGR 160 and am loving it so far!
FAVORITE THING TO DO ON CAMPUS: Lay around! On Bascom Hill, Engineering Mall, the Terrace, wherever! I have found that the weather in Madison is usually beautiful (except when it’s too hot, too humid, too rainy, too cold, or too snowy…)!

ABOUT ME:I am very excited to be continuing on as the SWE Freshman Committee Chair this semester! Other than being involved in SWE, I love the outdoors – hiking, swimming, running, biking, and canoeing – and enjoy time just relaxing with my friends.
MY INVOLVEMENT WITH SWE:I got involved with SWE my freshman year through Freshman Committee and helped Corrie, who was the School Outreach Chair at the time, to organize SWE’s Science Olympiad volunteering. I was elected as Freshman Committee Chair last winter and really enjoyed being in the position last semester. I love the people I’ve met through SWE and all the opportunities SWE presents so I’m really excited to continue my involvement with SWE even though I’ve decided that I’m no longer majoring in engineering.
WORK EXPERIENCE:Last semester I worked in Professor Weisshaar’s lab in the Chemistry Department, helping a grad student do research on oxidative stress in E. coli bacteria.
FAVORITE THING TO DO ON CAMPUS:I grew up going to Badger Football games and that is still one of my favorite things to do on campus. I also enjoy relaxing at the Memorial Union Terrace and going for runs on Lakeshore Path.
FAVORITE CLASS/PROFESSOR: Chemistry 115 with Jim Skinner. It was the class that sparked my love for chemistry.
