About Us

Mission Statement

Our mission is to stimulate individuals  of all backgrounds and identities to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity.

SWE Inclusion Statement

Society of Women Engineers strives to be an inclusive space to people of all identities and backgrounds, including but not limited to gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, socioeconomic status, and ability status. SWE is a student organization that serves to provide opportunities for individuals of marginalized genders in engineering and computer, data and information sciences – including women, genderqueer, transgender, nonbinary, and gender non-conforming people. We recognize that gender is a spectrum, and that this statement does not capture all the gender identities that SWE supports.
