Job Posting

Department of Natural Resources

I wanted to reach out and share information about an opportunity that members of your organization may be interested in pursuing.  The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is currently searching for qualified individuals to fill an LTE Floodplain Mapping Engineer position.

The DNR excels at protecting and managing Wisconsin’s natural resources while supporting the economy and the well-being of the citizenry. In partnership with individuals and organizations, DNR staff manage fish, wildlife, forests, parks, air, and water resources while promoting a healthy, sustainable environment and a full range of outdoor opportunities.

The LTE Floodplain Mapping Engineer position is one such role.  The position will assist with developing engineering studies for WI floodplain mapping projects. The position will perform quality assurance/quality control checks for hydrologic and hydraulic studies completed for mapping projects. These roles will help ensure that floodplain engineering studies are conducted in accordance with federal and state mapping technical guidance and standards.  The position will use GIS tools to digitally incorporate floodplain study data into mapping products.  DNR could work with the successful candidate and an educational institution to support an internship opportunity.

More information can be found at wisc.jobs: Careers (wi.gov)

If there are any questions about the position, please feel free to reach out to me at (608) 444-2089 or Tanya.Lourigan@wisconsin.gov.

My name is Ryan Okerson, I am the design engineer at Terraform Industries. We are a seed stage green-tech startup based out of Burbank, near Los Angeles.
We are highly motivated to build a diverse, talented team to work at Terraform. General fields are including but not limited to mechanical, chemical, high power engineering, control systems, and assay, specifically applied to fluidized bed reactors, electrolysers and catalytic reactors. We are inquiring after students who are interested in talking with us about an internship or joining us full time.
In more detail, we are building a development prototype for scalable hydrocarbon synthesis via catalytic hydrogenation of CO2 to methane. The prototype has three main systems, direct air capture of CO2, hydrogen generation, and methane synthesis. We’ve published our whitepaper online and we’re happy to answer any questions you may have about our approach.
